WHO ARE WE?
Upon being granted the original charter by Les Amis d’Escoffier, the first chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier was founded in New York City in 1976. The first expansion chapter was established in Washington, DC in 1981. Presently there are 25 chapters, all affiliated with Les Dames d’Escoffier International, which was formed in 1985 as an umbrella organization to unite individual Les Dames d’Escoffier chapters to provide support and to establish a worldwide networking and communication system
Today Les Dames d’Escoffier, Washington D.C. numbers one hundred members from Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia. You buy their books and products, read their advice, try their recipes, attend their classes and events, read about their contributions to the community, listen to them on the radio and watch them on television. They are accomplished women who have not only achieved success in their professions, but who choose to give back to their communities and inspire and mentor other women in the food beverage and hospitality professions.
