Grants
Les Dames d’Escoffier awards Grants to community organizations that help women in need prepare for gainful employment in the food, beverage and hospitality professions. Grants are awarded to non-profit institutions and organizations for projects that are targeted to benefit women although the organization need not serve women exclusively. These Grants are usually awarded at the October General Meeting. For the past several years the Washington DC Chapter has awarded Grants totaling $8,000.00 per year.
Additionally, the Washington, DC Chapter has twice awarded the Lainie Forman Community Service Award in memory of Dame Lainie Forman. The Lainie Forman Community Service Award honors a woman in metropolitan Washington, DC who demonstrates exceptional service to the community in the areas of food and hunger.
The generous supporters of Les Dames d’Escoffier Washington DC who attend the varied fundraising activities sponsored by the Chapter throughout the year make it possible for Washington, DC Dames to award these Grants.
