Adapting Japanese Cuisine from a Traditionally Chinese Cuisine Background” was the talk given by Dame Christiana Chiang and Rock Fu, Proprietor of Kizuna Sushi and Ramen, Chris' newest restaurant, located in Tysons Corner, Virginia. Attendees enjoyed a lavish assortment of pan-Asian creations including a "dragon" of sushi varieties (see photo), fabulous dumplings, appetizers, and bowls of ramen with pork belly and egg in a pork-veal broth that takes 18 hours to prepare from fresh bones.

It is really interesting that sushi and ramen have been served together. In Japanese culture, both sushi and ramen have been prominent dishes since their early comings. For those that do not know what they are, sushi is fresh fish or octopus wrapped in rich and nori, while rames is a noodle dish which has a bunch of meat and egg on top. Personally, I prefer eating ramen more since it is a lot more fulfilling to eat, however, I cannot say that the sushi is a bad dish either.

Sushi and Ramen are two of the most amazing dishes that Japan has introduced to us. There are a few countries who make a living from making these dishes. Well, I do not see why they should not, considering it is an amazing dish. Sushi and Ramen tells the tale of how the Japanese have made dishes into a culture. For an American like me, I find it envious that the Japanese get to eat authentic Sushi and Ramen, while I have to eat burgers all day.
