Cecilia Glembocki received the Pro Eccelesia et Pontificemedal in Rome from Pope Francis on October 23 in recognition for her distinguished service to the church. It was presented to her by Cardinal Rylko, president of the St. John Paul II Foundation. The medal, also known as the "Cross of Honour," was established by Pope Leo XIII in 1888 and is given for distinguished service to the church by lay people and clergy. It is the highest medal that can be awarded to the laity by the Pope.
