Our beloved friend and sister Dame Marianne Ali died on August 30 at her home in Bowie, Maryland with her family and friends beside her. Marianne, 60, was the director of DC Central Kitchen's much lauded culinary training program. During her twenty years at the kitchen, Marianne received numerous commendations for her exemplary work. Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Thursday, September 7, at 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at J.B. Jenkins Funeral Home, 7474 Landover Road, Landover, MD 20785. A reception will be held immediately following the services at the City of Glenarden Community Center, 2250 Petrie Lane, Suite #519, Woodmore Towne Center, Lanham, MD 20706.
