Elena Clement is the owner of The Guiding Knife and serves as the ACF Nation's Capital Chef's Association Executive Director! Wait till you find out how the creative use for a certain culinary staple caused a really funny uproar for Elena.
Here's our interview..... The best part of being a DC Dame: I enjoy being a DC Dame because there are so many amazing women in this area and it is an honor to be around them. The networking opportunities are there for the taking! If I wasn't in this profession I'd be a care giver in some capacity...I always want to help others! This industry is who I am and I don't think that will ever change. My favorite kitchen utensil is a sharp knife. My favorite knife is a santoku from Canada Cutlery, but I can manage with something else as long as it is sharp My thoughts about the DC food scene: The food scene is active and hot; so much to try and not enough time to eat it all! Most rewarding part of my career giving back to others and sharing what I have learned. The funniest thing that ever happened in my career someone "cater wrapped" my friends car while we were away for a competition, took a half hour to unwrap it My motto is I have just adopted this: Every morning you have two choices: continue to sleep with your dreams or wake up and chase them.
