Reel Tasty: Hunger (2023) is about Aoy, an unusually talented Bangkok street-food cook, who is invited to join the fine dining industry under the tutelage of the infamous Chef Paul, and Tone, a supportive sous chef. What happens next tests her cooking skills, her ambition, and most of all, her character. The food scenes will make you want to get a ticket to Thailand. And the ethical issues raised in the film will make you ponder the demands of upscale restaurant work versus the rewards of cooking "everyday" food. The film is available on Netflix.
